Materials

Joanna Sheen - Say It With Flowers CD.
1 x Sheet of A4 cardstock, (a good weight approx 300gsm).
A4 paper, 120gsm for the tea-bag tiles.
A4 thin card for topper.
Gold paper for mat.
Small amount of sellotape.
Foam pads and glue / double sided tape.
2 x 1penny coins.

Step One

You will need eight tea-bag tiles to make the rosette.  There are two sizes of tea-bag tiles (shown at items 2 & 3 on photo) on the CD and instructions for an alternative tea-bag tile are also included in the Single Blooms Section of the CD.  I chose to use the single flower topper (Item 4 on photo) and printed extra copies.  If you have a word processing programme you can isolate the size of image you wish to use (approx 5cms is ideal) and import it into the programme and duplicate the image.  You will also need an image for the topper.  I chose the smaller size of the Michaelmas daisy spray (Item 1 on photo)

Step Two

Your teabag tile should be approx 5cms square.

Fold your tile in quarters with the right side to the outside. (Shown by red line) See photo.

Open out the tile and make a diagonal fold with the right side of the tea-bag inside the fold. (Shown by green line) item 2 on photo

Right side facing, fold again on the diagonal crease line, and push the two side points inwards, and inside the folded tea-bag to create a square - item 3 on photo

With the closed point of the square to the top, fold the right-hand corner towards the centre of square.  Repeat with the left-hand corner - item 4 on photo.  Make 8 identical squares.

Place a small amount of glue on the tile (as shown by the red triangle - item 4 on photo).

Slide the second tile underneath the top right-hand side of the first tile locating it on the glued section to join the two segments together - items 5 and 6 on photo

Continue until all eight sections have been glued together to make a rosette - items 7 and 8 on photo

Step Three

Landscape orientation; fold the sheet of A4 cardstock.  Cut an aperture 13cms x 1cm, centred 4cms from either side and 4.5cms from the bottom of the card. (See photo).

Step Four

Cover the aperture with a piece of gold shiny paper 19cms x 2.5cms (centred over the aperture) (See item 1 on photo).

With the inside of the card facing, cut open the aperture and glue the cut edges onto the inside of the card.  Cover with a layer of sellotape between the red lines to assist the coin to run smoothly.  (See item 2 on photo).

Cut two small circles of foam tape which will fit inside the aperture.  Stick one circle of foam on top of the other and stick to the centre of one of the coins.  Place this coin behind the aperture (see item 3 on photo). Remove the protector from the foam tape and stick the remaining coin on top of the foam. (This coin will be on the front of the card).  Stick the rosette to the front of the card.  (See photo in step five).

Step Five

Mat and add the topper.  I used the smallest size in the Wood grain Spray section.

Add a sentiment – there is a varied selection on The Say It with Flowers CD.
