Thank you to Sandra Miles for her clear instructions on how to make the Calla Lily spray.

Materials

2 x sheets of A4 cardstock.  (3 if you are making an additional box base).

JS Victorian Romance CD.  I used an image from Page One.

1 Sheet JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper printed with chosen toppers (you will need two of the largest and two of the smallest toppers in a set).

2 Sheets of printer paper, I use120gsm printed with chosen backing sheet (I chose the script pattern).

2 sheets of gold backing paper for matting.

A piece of gold cardstock slightly larger than the largest topper.

JS/Christine Coleman Lace petals rubber stamp plate.

Gold Pigment ink pad.

Detail clear embossing powder.

Double sided tape, glue.

JS Syntego Ivy Leaves/ Calla Lilies/ Heather to construct the flower spray.  I used the white Calla Lilies to match the lilies on the image.

See Sandra Miles’s tutorial how to assemble the spray and for full list of materials.

Step One

First you need to construct the box to fit behind the card and hold the flower spray (See picture).  Measure the size of one of the largest toppers.  (Ideally it should be no larger than 10cms x 14cms).  The topper I used measured, 9cms x 11.5cms.  Add 6cms to each dimension, and cut a piece of cardstock 15cms x 17.5cms.

Step Two

Mark points 2cms in from each corner edge – shown by Green Line (See picture) and then a further 1cm shown by Red Line inside the green line. Centre the marked points on the groove of your scoreboard and score.  (See picture).  Cut away the sections marked 1, 2, and 3 – also shown by the hatched lines at the bottom left of the image.

Step Three

Cut one side of each of the four small squares marked “A” to create a tab.  Fold the score lines into a box shape with a flange (2cms overhang).  Glue the tabs in place to create the box – anchoring tabs into position with paperclips.

Step Four

Fix one of the largest toppers to the inside of the box, and assemble the flower spray.

Tutorial here: - http://www.joannasheen.com/tuition-advice/heather-and-calla-lily-spray-by-sandra-miles/

Attach double sided tape (shown in red) to the flanges but do not remove the backing paper from the tape.  (See Picture).

Step Five

Take a sheet of A4 cardstock landscape orientation and make a gatefold card – when closed the opening edges of a gatefold card should meet in the middle of the card.  (For a sheet of card measuring 29.7cms the score lines are at 7.4cms from left and right edges).  Measure your card before marking as there are often slight variations in card sizes.  (See Picture).

Step Six

On the centre section of the gate fold, centralize and mark out a section 1cm shorter and narrower than your largest topper.  e.g.  My topper measured 9cms x 11.5cms – my marked section measured 8cms x 10.5cms.  Cut this marked section out to create an aperture.

Cut and fix a piece of gold backing paper slightly smaller than the centre gatefold section, and cut out the centre of the backing paper so that when it is glued into position it will not overhang the aperture.  (See picture).

Step Seven

(Picture illustrated using a different backing paper from the one specified)

Cut a piece of the script backing paper slightly smaller than the gold paper and fix to the card covering the aperture (glue/double sided tape should not overhang the aperture).  (See Fig. A).    Turn the card with wrong side facing and make two cuts in the aperture to form a diagonal cross.  Leaving a small overhang, cut away the excess, fold back the overhang to the wrong side of the card and glue down.  (See Fig. B).

Cover the two side pieces of the gatefold to match the centre section and position the two small toppers.  I attached the topper on the right as a small opening card on which to write the greeting.

Remove the double sided tape backing from the box and attach it to the back of the card. The box should be slightly larger than the aperture if measured correctly.

Step Eight

Decorate the front of the gatefold.  I matted the second large topper onto a piece of gold card.  Using the Christine Coleman lace petals border stamp, I stamped diagonal corners in gold and embossed with Detail Clear embossing powder.  (See Fig, B).

Fig. A shows the back of the card and the underside of the box.  I make a box base 1cm deep and exactly to the size of the card.  Attach two strips of double sided tape (shown in red) to the underside of the card box and fix inside the box base.   The opening of the gatefold acts as the lid for the box.  Tie the box with ribbon or make an acetate top cover for the card box.

Step Nine

Picture shows the gatefold side panels after matting and layering was made using the same principle, but the figure in the box was decoupaged using an image from the Fashion Boutique CD set.
