JS Signature Die Sets.
Build a Flower – SD078

Spring Blossom - SD051

Rose Leaves – SD004

Step One

Using Gentle Gloss Photo Paper print out the topper sheet from JS Barbara Mock One Summer’s Day CD.

Cut out on the smaller of the two toppers and mount on black Foundations card.  The mounted topper should measure approximately 8.5cms x 11cms.

If you are using the sentiment which comes with the topper sheet, mount it on a piece of black Foundations card, leaving a narrow border round the edge.

Step Two

The Illustration shows the dies used to make the flowers and foliage.

Step Three

1 x A4 sheet of JS Elegance Satin 160gsm paper is sufficient to make all the flowers, if care is taken in placing the dies for cutting.

For each flower – using the Signature Build a Flower die set, cut 3 x largest petal shape; 2 x middle petal shape; 1 x small petal shape.  (The largest cut out shape is shown at fig 1).  Also cut one of the smallest stamens shape (Fig. 8).

Flower Assembly

Fig. 2 cut off the point from each petal to give a frilled edge.

Fig. 3 Using a poster paint brush and Mustard Seed Distress Ink pad, tint the frilled edge of each petal.

Fig. 4 Water spritz each petal shape, blot off any excess water and carefully fold the petals into a cone shape (similar to a furled umbrella).

Fig. 5 carefully open out the petal shape leaving a natural curl in some of the petals.

Fig. 6 cut a circle of paper about the size of a 5p piece.

Fig. 7 Using Pinflair Glue gel, assemble the petals on top of the circle of paper staggering the petal shapes and starting with the largest petals at the bottom.  Add extra curl to the petals using tweezers, if required.

Fig. 8 Using a Dried Marigold Distress Ink pad, colour the stamens die cut, attach to flower.

Step Four

Using the Signature Rose Leaves die set cut out three pairs of leaves and colour using the poster paint brush and Peeled Paint Distress Ink Pad.

Step Five

Using the Signature Spring Blossom die cut out two dies cuts. Colour using Peeled Paint Distress Ink Pad.

Using the smallest stamens die in the Build a Flower die set cut out approximately 12 die cuts and colour using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink Pad.

Cut sprigs from the Spring Blossom die, cup the stamens into a flower shape and attach the stamens to the end of the sprigs grouping them together in threes or fours.

Step Six

Using JS Elegance Satin 300gsm Card score in half to create an A5 tent-fold card.

Position the topper towards the top left of the card and mount using foam pads.

Attach flowers and foliage to the front of the card.

Attach a Sentiment.

This card will present better in a box because of the depth of the flowers.
