Materials

2 A4 Sheets JS Elegance and Satin JS Ice White 300gsm card.
2 A4 Sheets JS Elegance and Satin JS Ice White 160gsm thin card.
1 A4 Sheet JS Gold Mirri card.
2mm Foam Tape.
Sticky Stuff – I used, Double Sided Tape, Quickie Glue Pen and Pinflair Glue Gel.
JS “From the Heart of the Garden” double CD set. I used a decoupage image from the Inspirational section on CD1.

Optional – to decorate the fronts of the gatefold
I used the Memory Box Valerian Flourish Die and an off cut of Mirri card. The die used should be symmetrical.

Please print out the decoupage sheet before cutting the card. Sizes vary depending on the type of printer used. You may need to adjust the measurements of the card.

Step One

Using JS Elegance and Satin 160gsm thin card print out the decoupage sheet from CD1 Inspirational section.

Print out the matching backing sheet. It explains on the CD how to isolate and copy part of an image, then paste it into a graphics or word processing programme. I isolated part of the backing sheet and pasted it into a word processing programme. Most programmes have the facility to flip an image. “How to”, can be found in the help section of your programme.

Step Two

Using JS Elegance and Satin 300gsm card cut two pieces of card as shown. Score the large piece of card but do not fold.

Step Three

Cut out the largest topper from the decoupage sheet.

Cut out the centre of the topper, inside the frame.

Step Four

Fix the topper to the centre section of the gatefold.

Cut out the cup in the frame topper from the decoupage sheet.

Step Five

Apply double sided tape to the reserve of the cup in the frame topper as shown.

Turn the gatefold card face down and place the topper on the card, positioning it over the aperture.

Stick the smaller piece of card on the topper, centering the card on the middle section of the gatefold.

Step Six

The topper should now be in the correct position to show through the aperture.

Step Seven

Apply 2mm foam tape around the edge of the single piece of card

Remove the foam tape and attach the card to the middle section of the underside of the gatefold, centering it so the topper is visible through the aperture.

Step Eight

Cut two pieces of mirri card 5cms x 14cms.

Cut a piece of thin copy paper 5cms x 14 cms.

Position the Memory Box die on the copy paper and attach with double sided tape. Place on the base plate of your die cutter with the cutting side of the die face upwards. “A”

Cover the die with a piece of mirri card (face down) and secure with a small piece of sticky tape.

Cut.

Remove the waste bits, the die-cut will fit into the card.

Repeat with the second piece of mirri card.

Step Nine

Attach the mirri card to the outside of the gatefolds.

Using a Quickie glue pen, re-attach the die-cuts.

Step Ten

Cut two pieces of the backing paper and mount on mirri card, to fit the inside gatefolds. They should measure 5.7cms x 14.6cms.

Cut out the remaining decoupage and attach to the topper.

This card does not fit in a standard sized envelope.
