1 x JS 8” x 8” Ivory Scalloped Card.
2 x A4 Sheets of JS 300gsm Elegance Satin Card.
3 x A4 Sheets of JS 160gsm Elegance Satin Paper.
1 x A4 Sheet of JS Gold Mirri Card.
Sticky Stuff – I used Double Sided Tape, Red Liner Tape and Pinflair Glue Gel.
JS Thomas Kinkade Projects CD.
Optional – Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads, Tea Dye, Mustard Seed, Fired Brick.
Spellbinders - Small Circular Scalloped Die.
Using JS 160gsm Elegance Satin Paper print out a decoupage set and matching backing paper from the JS Thomas Kinkade CD. I used project image 15.
To create the “floating front” cut an A4 sheet of 300gsm JS Elegance Satin card to measure 19cms x 21cms.
Measure, mark and score the vertical lines as shown. Mark the two horizontal lines – both measure 11cms.
Cut the green lines, and fold the score lines as shown.
Apply red liner tape to the sections shown in pink.
Make a pleat at the left-hand side, remove the backing on the red liner tape and stick down.
Cut away the excess of the pleat at the back of the piece of card.
Optional - Colour the edges of an 8” x 8” JS scalloped card. I used a duster brush and Tim Holtz distress ink pads, Tea Dye, Mustard Seed, and Fired Brick.
Cut a piece of backing paper 19.4cms x 19.4cms.
Cut away the centre section of the backing paper as shown and attach to the front of the card using double sided tape. The “floating box” should protrude through the centre aperture on the backing paper.
Attach to the front of the card using double sided tape.
Mount the topper onto a piece of JS Gold Mirri card, and a piece of JS 300gsm Elegance Satin card. Optional, colour the edges of the satin card to match the 8” x 8” card. The mounted topper should measure approximately 17.5cms x 15cms.
Centre and position the topper on the raised “floating box” and attach to the “floating box”. The topper should “float” in front of the card.
Cut out the remaining decoupage pieces, and layer up. It is easier to complete the decoupage after the topper has been attached to the card.
Mount the topper on a piece of gold mirri card and attach to the card. I used a small Spellbinders circular scallop die to complement the scallop on the card.
This card will fold down and fit in a 22cms x 22cms envelope.
